Announcing our 2025 - 2026
Horizon Rising Stars Programs!

In Fall 2025, Horizon Rising Stars will be offering a new type of performance opportunity for young performers! Our youth performers will be teaming up with our adult performers to bring “A Year with Frog and Toad” to Riverside Arts Center this October. This performance opportunity is specifically designed for youth who may be more interested in pursuing theatre in a more dedicated fashion, as our adult performers will be providing mentorship to their youth counterparts. We will cast two entirely different casts - one made up of 6 adult performers and one made up of, at most, 20 youth performers. More information on this production will be available later this summer! Auditions will be in August, and the production will be October 16 - 19, 2025.

Cool down with Horizon Rising Stars next summer!

We are very excited to announce that we’ll be bringing the beloved “Frozen Jr.” to Horizon Rising Stars next summer! “Frozen Jr.” is based on the 2018 Broadway musical and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr.” expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart! Join us in June 2026 for this exciting production!

Theatre designed specifically for young performers!

Horizon Rising Stars (HRS) was founded in January 2024 as an inclusive and welcoming space for youth performers. In April 2024, our inaugural production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. graced the stage at Riverside Arts Center and welcomed over 35 performers to our program.  HRS will provide programming for individuals 18 and younger who want to engage in the performing arts and find ways to develop their theatre skills in a safe and welcoming environment. Following our mission statement, we will provide a space that is inclusive, inventive, and encouraging for those who may be new to theatre, as well as those who are experienced. We will open our doors specifically to those in this age group who are looking for additional performance opportunities outside of their school groups and provide an introductory experience to the adult and community theatre world.
