Get ready for a season filled with laughter, imagination, and unforgettable performances! Horizon Rising Stars is thrilled to announce our 2026–2027 season, featuring two spectacular productions that will give young performers the opportunity to shine on stage.
January 2027: Once Upon a Mattress Youth Edition
The classic fairy tale gets a hilarious twist in Once Upon a Mattress Youth Edition! Join Princess Winnifred as she turns the kingdom upside down with her larger than life personality, proving that being yourself is the greatest happily ever after of all. Packed with memorable songs, laugh out loud comedy, and charming characters, this musical is perfect for performers of all experience levels.
June 2027: Beetlejuice Jr.
Beetlejuice Jr. brings the wildly entertaining Broadway hit to the stage in a family-friendly adaptation full of spooky fun, outrageous humor, and show stopping musical numbers. This energetic production celebrates friendship, embracing what makes us unique, and finding family in unexpected places.
Whether your child is stepping onto the stage for the first time or is a seasoned performer, Horizon Rising Stars offers a welcoming environment where creativity, confidence, and friendships grow. We can't wait to bring these incredible stories to life with our talented community of young artists.

Theatre designed specifically for young performers!
Horizon Rising Stars (HRS) was founded in January 2024 as an inclusive and welcoming space for youth performers. In April 2024, our inaugural production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. graced the stage at Riverside Arts Center and welcomed over 35 performers to our program. HRS will provide programming for individuals 18 and younger who want to engage in the performing arts and find ways to develop their theatre skills in a safe and welcoming environment. Following our mission statement, we will provide a space that is inclusive, inventive, and encouraging for those who may be new to theatre, as well as those who are experienced. We will open our doors specifically to those in this age group who are looking for additional performance opportunities outside of their school groups and provide an introductory experience to the adult and community theatre world.
